We could say that Almacelles (pop. 6.200) is the capital of a little area between the north-west Segrià and the east Llitera’s regions. Villages like Sucs, Suquets, Gimenells, el Pla de la Font, Raimat, Vencilló or Altorricón are really in contact with Almacelles in so many different fields as it could be their history, their culture, their society or their commercial relations.

Almacelles’ economy was, few years ago, located basicaly in the irrigated lands agriculture and cattle raising, but nowadays the services and the construction sector is growing up between the Almacelles’ economic income. In the same way, it’s important the agrarian industry, specially the forage dehydratation and agrarian machinery industries.

We have to add too, the ceramic and construction prefabricated pieces industries, located in different industrial areas, and a wide number of varied shops and services that make of Almacelles a really good future town.
